Our client is a multi-billion dollar, global medical equipment company that is either number 1 or number 2 in most of its market segments. Strong record of growth and profitability.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

This is a Six Sigma Operational Excellence role focused on the identification and implementation of process changes that deliver costs savings and improve revenue and profit in alignment with our client’s strategic objectives. This role will responsible for training and mentoring project teams on proper use of six sigma methodologies and tools. Initial projects will be related to transactional processes and will impact the following cross functional business to include service, sales and R+D.

  • Service: improve the product Returns process and profitability of contract customers.
  • Sales Operations: improve product placement and compliance processes.
  • R&D and Manufacturing: improve the quality and serviceability of products through design changes or lower-cost vendors.
  • Effectively train/coach Green and Black Belts in the application and knowledge of the six sigma methodology, tools and techniques.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve transactional processes that reduce costs and/or improve revenue and increase margins, and validate impact with Finance teams.
  • Define projects, structure and lead project teams, collect data, conduct analyses, define and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Influence cross-functional owners in Quality, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Service.
  • Partner with other OPEX staff to drive project synergies and cross-business impact.
  • Present updates to senior management on behalf of functional project teams.

Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or quantitative business field.
  • MS in industrial engineering/management, operations research, applied statistics/mathematics or quality engineering is a plus.
  • Certified Black Belt/Master Black Belt.
  • 5-10 years of business experience in Operations improvement, Financial Audit or Six Sigma roles.
  • Extensive experience in successful process improvement and project management through the application of Lean, Six Sigma & Design Excellence methodologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering cost and profit improvement solutions across multiple functional areas.
